Ready to Lead District 281

My Message to You

About Kath Hammerseng

For more than four decades, Robbinsdale Area Schools have been at the center of my family's story. I graduated from Robbinsdale High School, raised my children in District 281, celebrated three graduates of our schools, and now watch my grandchildren begin their own educational journeys here.

As a realtor (known as "Just Kath") living in and serving this community for more than 30 years, I understand that strong public schools are the heart of our vibrant community. Great schools strengthen neighborhoods, support property values, attract families, and create opportunities that benefit everyone.

My Priorities

Transparency

Restore trust through open communication, clear decision-making, and openness with the community.

Strong Classrooms

Keep students at the center by creating learning environments where every student feels valued, included, supported, and inspired to succeed, while ensuring teachers and staff have the support they need.

Accountability

Responsible stewardship of district resources, financial expertise, and fiduciary skill to improve the district's financial condition while prioritizing classroom excellence.

Community

Strengthen connections among schools, families, local businesses, and community organizations to expand opportunities and build a stronger district together.

Excellence

Renew Robbinsdale's tradition of excellence by fostering innovation, opportunity, pride, and a community-wide commitment to student success.

MY VISION FOR ROBBINSDALE AREA SCHOOLS

My vision for Robbinsdale Area Schools is a district where:

  • Every student feels seen, valued, included, and inspired to succeed.

  • Every child can discover a pathway that fits their talents, interests, and goals, whether academic, artistic, technical, athletic, or career-focused.

  • Teachers and staff feel respected, supported, and proud of the work they do each day.

  • Schools become places where educators love to work, collaborate, and innovate.

  • Families and community members feel connected, heard, and proud of their district.

  • Partnerships with local businesses, organizations, and community programs expand opportunities for students and strengthen the connection between education and the broader community.

I believe Robbinsdale can once again become a district known for excellence, innovation, opportunity, and community pride. Together, we can create schools where students thrive, educators flourish, and our entire community grows stronger for generations to come.
